Job summary

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Six months or more experience working with the specific population preferred.
• CPR certification and de-escalation training required (training available upon hire).
• First aid may be required based on state or facility requirements.

Responsibilities

• Maintains the wellbeing of clients and provides a safe, positive, supportive, and structured environment.
• Maintains a constant awareness and supervision of clients.
• Conducts safety checks, ensuring supervision is conducted at intervals in accordance with guidelines.
• Interacts routinely with clients, observes behaviors and communicates observations to supervisor.
• Engages with clients in activities and group therapy to support treatment goals.
• Facilitates client educational and rehabilitative groups on topics like social skills and coping skills.
• Takes and records vital signs and communicates changes to the nurse in charge.
• Charts in client records accurately and timely.
• Applies de-escalation techniques to manage emotions and participation in treatment.
