Job summary

Carroll Lutheran Village, Inc. in Westminster, MD is seeking a PRN Bartender to provide friendly, professional service in a not-for-profit community.

You will greet guests, mix and serve drinks with presentation, and maintain a clean bar area while collaborating with other departments to ensure smooth operations. The role offers flexible, as-needed shifts including 4:00pm–8:00pm on select days with weekend availability, and opportunities to pick up additional coverage.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 1-2 years bartending experience or formal training is preferred and should be verifiable.
• Must comply with all state and local laws regarding the sale and service of alcoholic beverages, as required by the State of Maryland.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests in a friendly and professional manner.
• Mix and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, ensuring proper garnishes and presentation.
• Arrange bar or cart supplies and glassware to create visually appealing displays.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the bar/cart area at all times.
• Accurately record all sales, collect payments, and operate the cash register in accordance with facility cash handling procedures.
• Prepare and/or sell food items as needed.
• Conduct inventory checks, assess stock levels, and submit orders or requisitions in a timely manner to ensure sufficient supply of all necessary items.
• Adhere to all departmental procedures and facility policies.
• Foster and maintain effective working relationships with team members and other departments to support seamless service.
• Promote a welcoming, positive, and calm atmosphere throughout the department.
• Attend and actively participate in workshops, seminars, and in-service training programs.
• Complete TAM (Techniques of Alcohol Management) training and successfully pass the competency test, as required by the Carroll CountyBoard of License Commissioners.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
