Léman Conservatory is seeking an experienced piano instructor to provide private lessons for students in grades K-12 after school, typically 3:30–6:30 on weekdays. Background checks and screenings are required at hire.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in piano performance or music education with a piano focus.
• 3+ years of private teaching experience.
• Piano method books, technique training exercises, and repertoire.
• Master’s Degree in piano performance or music education with a piano focus, preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan and teach 45-minute, one-on-one private lessons for grades K-12.
• Differentiate instruction to ensure progress for each student.
• Set clear weekly practice expectations and monitor progress.
• Assign weekly material including etudes and repertoire.
• Communicate with parents and the Conservatory Coordinator.
• Submit bi-weekly lesson logs.
• Prepare students for the annual recital in June.
• Support auditions or competitions (e.g., NYSSMA, college auditions).
• Maintain professional, proactive communication and positive interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrate independence and reliability.
