Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in piano performance or music education with a piano focus.
  • 3+ years of private teaching experience.
  • Piano method books, technique training exercises, and repertoire.
  • Master’s Degree in piano performance or music education with a piano focus, preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Teach 45-minute private piano lessons for students in grades K-12.
  • Differentiate instruction to ensure steady progress for each student.
  • Set and communicate weekly practice expectations to students and parents.
  • Assign weekly materials including etudes and repertoire.
  • Communicate with parents and the Conservatory Coordinator.
  • Submit bi-weekly lesson logs to the Conservatory Coordinator.
  • Prepare students for annual Conservatory Recital in June.
  • Prepare students for auditions or competitions (e.g., NYSSMA, college auditions).
  • Maintain professional and proactive communication and reliability.
