Job summary

State Street is seeking a Fund Accounting & Administration Officer in New Jersey to lead a team delivering essential fund administration services for private equity and hedge fund products. You will manage client relationships, supervise staff across multiple levels, and ensure accuracy in financial reporting and fee calculations.

The role requires 5–6 years of Private Equity experience, a Bachelor’s in Accounting or Finance, and strong communication, leadership, and time-management skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 5–6 years of Private Equity experience.
• Experience with alternative investment asset classes, complex fund structures and fee calculations.
• Ability to thrive under high pressure and meet deadlines.
• CPA qualification is favorable but not required.
• Experience with Investran or Geneva favorable but not required.

Responsibilities

• Supervise staff (Associate 1, Associate 2, Senior Associate).
• Manage internal workflow and client deadlines.
• Liaise with client personnel daily to manage relationships.
• Maintain good relationships with investment professionals, investors, auditors, lawyers.
• Review quarterly and annual work papers, schedules, accruals, and capital allocations.
• Review quarterly and annual financial statements and footnotes, coordinate audits.
• Review and/or prepare complex fee calculations, management fees, waterfall, and capital accounts.
