Job summary

First Day Homecare® is seeking an RN to provide skilled pediatric nursing for an infant client in Holly, MI, from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m., seven days a week.

Assignment requires adherence to medical orders and state Nurse Practice Act guidelines, with supervision by a medical practitioner. The role focuses on comprehensive nursing care, medication administration, client teaching, and 1:1 patient attention in a home setting.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Current license to practice as an RN in the state of operation.
• Current CPR certification.
• Licensed driver with automobile insured in accordance with state and/or Agency requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provides professional nursing care as defined in the state Nurse Practice Act.
• Provides care per orders and client care plan.
• Documents changes in orders in the medical record.
• Assists with personal care, monitoring, and reporting findings; medication administration; client teaching.
• Collaborates with the care team to coordinate services.
• Maintains safety and a clean, safe environment for clients and staff.
• Adheres to agency policies, procedures, and payor/accreditation standards.
• Participates in care coordination and agency meetings.
• Performs other related duties as needed.

Job Summary

Performs skilled nursing functions in accordance with federal, state, and local laws and within the guidelines of professional standards and the Nurse Practice Act. All nursing services provided will be under the direction of medical practitioner (MD, DO, NP, PA, etc.) orders.

Responsibilities

• Provides professional nursing care as defined in the state Nurse Practice Act.
• Provides care in accordance with medical practitioner orders and the client’s care plan.
• Maintains orders for clients and documents all changes in orders in the medical record following Agency procedures.
• The scope of clinical practice includes personal care services, monitoring and reporting findings, medication administration, client teaching, emergency intervention, and specialized pediatric services such as tracheostomy care, ventilator management, and tube feedings.
• Works collaboratively with other members of the client’s care team.
• Promotes personal safety and a safe environment for clients and coworkers.
• Performs job in compliance with Agency policies, procedures, and applicable payor and accreditation standards.
• Participates in the coordination of care and attends Agency meetings as requested.
• Performs other related duties and responsibilities as deemed necessary.
