Job summary

Homestead Home Health Care, located in Novi, MI, is seeking Private Duty caregivers to join their award-winning team. As a caregiver, you will provide essential physical and emotional support to elderly clients, help with daily living activities, and ensure a safe and clean environment. The role offers flexibility with shifts ranging from 4 to 12 hours, starting at $18.00 per hour. Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years of caregiving experience and the ability to pass a criminal background check.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of caregiving experience required.
• Must have experience passing medications.
• Able to pass a criminal background check.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, toileting.
• Use and cleaning of assistive devices like Hoyer lifts and gait belts.
• Check changes in client’s health and communicate with healthcare team.

Responsibilities

• Use of transfer assistive devices, including but not limited to Hoyer lifts, sit to stand, gait belts and slide board
• Assisting residents with daily living activities such as transferring in and out of bed, bathing, dressing, toileting, grooming and walking
• Evaluate changes in client’s health, conferring with other healthcare team members as needed
• Maintaining the cleanliness of the environment which may include light housekeeping
• Use and cleaning of devices such as catheters, colostomy bags and oxygen supplies
• Assess for changes in condition and communicate immediately to supervisor
• Develop and implement meaningful life enrichment activities
• Following schedule, assisting residents with repositioning
• Transport client to doctors’ appointments or shopping
• Complete all required documents and charting
• Plan, shop for and prepare nutritious meals
• Provide companionship for the client
• Follow all Homestead policies and procedures

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of caregiving experience
• Experience passing medications
