Job summary

Homestead Health Care in Commerce, MI is seeking compassionate and experienced Caregivers to provide care to our residents. You will assist residents with activities of daily living, provide companionship, and support emotional well-being.

The ideal candidate will have experience with the elderly, be comfortable passing medications, and able to work independently or as part of a team. This part-time role requires every-other-weekend shifts and reliable transportation.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Able to pass a criminal background check.
• Experience working with the elderly.
• Able to lift 50 pounds.
• Every other weekend is required.
• Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license or ID.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, and to arrive on time for every shift.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, incontinence care).
• Pass medications following physician orders.
• Provide companionship and emotional support to residents.
• Maintain a clean environment, including light housekeeping.
• Report changes in residents' conditions to the supervisor.
• Communicate professionally with families, support services, and coworkers.
• Comply with safety and infection control procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Homestead Health Care is seeking compassionate and experienced Caregivers to provide care to our residents in Commerce, MI.

The Caregiver will assist residents with activities of daily living and provide companionship and emotional support. The ideal candidate will have a passion for helping others, possess excellent communication skills, and foster genuine relationships with seniors.

Experience passing medications is a requirement, you must be comfortable working alone.

Responsibilities:

• Assisting clients with activities of daily living, specifically but not limited to bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, incontinence care, etc.
• Passing medications following physicians orders.
• Providing companionship and emotional support to clients.
• Maintaining the cleanliness of the environment which may include light housekeeping.
• Reporting any changes in the resident's condition to the supervisor.
• Communicate in a professional manner with families, support services, and coworkers of Homestead.
• Comply with all safety and health standards, including infection control procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Schedule:

This is a part-time position. Caregivers will be scheduled to work 8-hour shifts. Every other weekend is a requirement.

Pay:

Hourly starting pay is $16.00 per hour with room for growth.
