Job summary

Homestead Health Care in Auburn Hills, MI is seeking compassionate caregivers to assist residents with daily living activities, provide companionship, and support emotional well‑being. This role requires passing a criminal background check and working independently as well as in a team.

Position is part‑time, with 8‑hour shifts and every other weekend. Starting pay is $16 per hour, with room for growth, and benefits such as PTO, training, and health coverage after hours for full/part‑time staff.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years old.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Able to pass a criminal background check.
• Experience working with the elderly.
• Able to lift 50 pounds.
• Every other weekend is required.
• Reliable transportation.
• Valid Driver’s license or ID.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, and to arrive on time for every shift.

Responsibilities

• Assisting clients with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, incontinence care).
• Passing medications following physicians' orders.
• Providing companionship and emotional support to clients.
• Maintaining the cleanliness of the environment (light housekeeping).
• Reporting changes in residents' condition to the supervisor.
• Communicating professionally with families, support services, and coworkers.
• Complying with safety and health standards, including infection control procedures.
• Performing other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Homestead Health Care is seeking compassionate and experienced Caregivers to provide care to our residents in Auburn Hills, MI.

The Caregiver will assist residents with activities of daily living and provide companionship and emotional support. The ideal candidate will have a passion for helping others, possess excellent communication skills, and foster genuine relationships with seniors.

Experience passing medications is a requirement, you must be comfortable working alone.

Responsibilities

• Assisting clients with activities of daily living, specifically but not limited to bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, incontinence care, etc.
• Passing medications following physicians orders.
• Providing companionship and emotional support to clients.
• Maintaining the cleanliness of the environment which may include light housekeeping.
• Reporting any changes in the resident's condition to the supervisor.
• Communicate in a professional manner with families, support services, and coworkers of Homestead.
• Comply with all safety and health standards, including infection control procedures.

Schedule

This is a part-time position. Caregivers will be scheduled to work 8-hour shifts. Every other weekend is a requirement.

Pay

Hourly starting pay is $16.00 per hour with room for growth.
