Job summary

Homestead Health Care in Ypsilanti MI is seeking compassionate and experienced Caregivers to provide care to our residents. The Caregiver will assist residents with activities of daily living and provide companionship and emotional support. Experience passing medications is a requirement, you must be comfortable working alone.

This is a part-time position with 8-hour shifts. Every other weekend is required. Hourly starting pay is $16.00 per hour with room for growth.

Qualifications

• Experience passing medications is required.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Able to pass a criminal background check.
• Experience working with the elderly.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Assist with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, incontinence care).
• Pass medications following physician orders.
• Provide companionship and emotional support to clients.
• Maintain the cleanliness of the environment, including light housekeeping.
• Report changes to the supervisor and communicate with families and coworkers.
• Comply with safety and infection control procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Experience passing medications is a requirement, you must be comfortable working alone.

Responsibilities

• Assisting clients with activities of daily living, specifically but not limited to bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, incontinence care, etc.
• Passing medications following physicians orders.
• Providing companionship and emotional support to clients.
• Maintaining the cleanliness of the environment which may include light housekeeping.
• Reporting any changes in the resident's condition to the supervisor.
• Communicate in a professional manner with families, support services, and coworkers of Homestead.
• Comply with all safety and health standards, including infection control procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years old.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Able to pass a criminal background check
• Able to pass a criminal background check.
• Experience working with the elderly.
• Able to lift 50 pounds.
• Every other weekend is required.
• Reliable transportation.
• Valid Driver's license or ID.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, and to arrive on time for every shift.

Schedule

This is a part-time position. Caregivers will be scheduled to work 8-hour shifts. Every other weekend is a requirement.

Pay

Hourly starting pay is $16.00 per hour with room for growth.
