Job summary

Austin Country Club is seeking a part-time Private Club Barback in Austin, Texas, to support the Terrace Bar and other venues. You will assist bartenders, maintain stations, and help deliver premier member service with teamwork and professionalism.

This role offers valuable hospitality experience, weekend and evening hours, and a chance to grow within a premier private club environment. Compensation includes $18.00 per hour plus a 3% tip pool.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1+ years of experience in restaurant/bar operations.
• TABC and Texas Food Handlers certifications.
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Restocking products throughout service.
• Preparing garnishes and bar supplies.
• Cleaning and organizing bar stations.
• Washing and polishing glassware.
• Transporting inventory and supplies safely.
• Assisting with event setup and breakdown.
• Monitoring stock levels and rotation.
• Maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards.
• Supporting multiple Food & Beverage operations during peak periods.
• Contributing to a welcoming member experience.

WHEN YOU'LL BE WORKING

• Part-time schedule
• Thursday through Sunday evenings
• Weekend and holiday availability
• Typical shifts range from 4-8 hours
• Occasional doubles or split shifts
• Primarily assigned to The Terrace Bar, with opportunities to support other outlets when needed

YOUR DAY AS OUR PART-TIME PRIVATE CLUB BARBACK

You’ll help ensure bartenders have everything they need to deliver seamless service by:

• Restocking products throughout service
• Preparing garnishes and bar supplies

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE

• High school diploma or equivelent
• 1+ years of experience in a restaurant supporting bar operations
• Base knowledge of Beer, Wine, and Liquor
• TABC and Texas Food Handlers certifications
• Ability to put your best foot forward and present yourself in a clean and professional way
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication skills
• Team Player
• Ability to move and lift up to 25 lbs.
• Ability to Stand, sit and walk for extended periods of time
• Basic computer skills are a plus
• Club experience is a plus
