Job summary

Withum is seeking a Private Client Services Tax Supervisor to lead tax engagements from our Tysons Corner, VA or Columbia, MD offices. You will supervise staff and build lasting client relationships while ensuring timely, accurate tax reporting for high-net-worth individuals and trusts.

The role requires 4+ years in public accounting, a Bachelor's in accounting (MS Tax preferred), and CPA preferred or in progress, with strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting; Master of Science in Taxation preferred.
• CPA License preferred or plan to obtain licence.
• At least 4 years of public accounting experience.
• Exceptional client service and communication skills with ability to develop and maintain outstanding client relationships.
• Ability to manage multiple engagements and projects; strong leadership, training and mentoring skills; excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, project management skills, and attention to detail.
• Ability to travel as needed based on client assignments.

Responsibilities

• Taking a lead role on all aspects of tax engagements.
• Supervise/mentor staff and manage client relationships.
• Prepare complex high net worth individual income tax and trust & estate returns.
• Review mid-level complexity returns for high net worth individuals.
• Research and drafting memos on complex tax matters.
• Identify tax planning opportunities and handle tax controversies.
