Job summary

Summa Health is seeking an experienced privacy administrator for their Privacy Program. This full-time position involves ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations, developing and overseeing privacy policies, and conducting audits. Candidates must possess a bachelor’s degree and at least five years of relevant experience in healthcare privacy compliance, along with necessary certifications like CHPC. Qualifications

• Five or more years of experience in a large integrated healthcare delivery system.
• Certification in Healthcare Privacy Compliance (CHPC) is required.
• Experience in HIPAA Privacy regulations.

Summary

Administers the system Privacy Program and Summa’s commitment to comply with state and federal regulations. This position functions as an independent body that reviews and evaluates privacy issues and concerns within the organization. Responsible for developing, maintaining, and overseeing the development, implementation, and maintenance of policies and procedures as well as education, investigation, monitoring, and auditing responsibilities. Ensures the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of Summa Health System assets. Participates in ongoing enforcement and monitoring activities related to privacy in compliance with organizational policy, regulatory requirements, federal and state laws, accreditation, and industry standards.

Qualifications

• Formal Education Required: Bachelor’s degree or higher (Advanced degree or JD preferred)
• Experience and Training Required: Five (5) or more years of demonstrable, professional experience in a large integrated healthcare delivery system implementing HIPAA Privacy regulations and application state and federal regulations or other highly regulated industry
• Certifications:
  • Certification in Healthcare Privacy Compliance (CHPC)
  • Certification in Healthcare Compliance (CHC) (preferred)
  • Certification in Privacy Security (CHPS) (preferred)
  • Requires 1500 hours working in healthcare compliance prior to examination
• Other Skills, Competencies and Qualifications:
  • Knowledge and experience in state and federal privacy laws
  • Knowledge and experience in conducting investigations and privacy audits
  • Knowledge of Office of Civil Rights and Office of National Coordination Cures Act
  • Population‑Specific Competency: Ability to effectively interact with patients/customers with understanding of their needs for self‑respect and dignity
  • Level of Physical Demands: Sedentary – Exerts up to ten pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently

Compensation

Salary range: $49.78/hr - $74.68/hr (base salary exclusive of bonuses or differentials. The range is the full base salary range; hiring at the maximum of the range is not typical.)
