Job summary

Suno in San Francisco is seeking a Privacy Engineering Lead to build Suno's privacy and AI governance from scratch, shaping data handling, model governance, and policy enforcement at the point of use.

You'll hire and grow the privacy engineering team, partner with Legal and Product, and ensure responsible data practices across Suno products and features, focusing on user rights and compliance.

Qualifications

• 8-10 years hands-on software engineering experience building enforcement infrastructure.
• Deep experience in privacy engineering or data governance, incl. GDPR/CCPA.
• Engineering manager experience or Staff+ level ready to move into people leadership.

Responsibilities

• Build policy foundations for data, permitted uses, and AI in partnership with Legal.
• Own data discovery, classification, and permissions mapping across products and vendor systems.
• Design and operate governance controls across products, data platforms, models, and agents.
• Lead verified user rights operations: access, correction, deletion, consent management.
• Hire and grow a dedicated privacy engineering team.
• Integrate responsible data handling into every new model/feature.
