Job summary

Nielsen seeks a Legal Counsel II, Privacy & Data Protection, to provide practical, business‑oriented advice on U.S. and global privacy matters across products, services, and partnerships.

You will partner with Product, Engineering, and Compliance teams to implement privacy by design and support ongoing DPIAs and data governance. The role involves drafting DPAs, advising on data sharing, and coordinating privacy incident responses in a fast-paced, global setting.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of privacy, data protection, or related legal work.
• J.D. or equivalent and bar admission in at least one U.S. state.
• Experience with DPAs, DPIAs and privacy risk assessments.
• Strong drafting and negotiation experience for privacy terms.
• Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams globally.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day legal guidance on U.S. privacy laws and regulations.
• Draft, review, and negotiate data processing agreements and privacy terms.
• Conduct privacy impact assessments and third‑party due diligence.
• Support privacy incident response and regulatory inquiries.
• Develop privacy program materials and templates.
