Job summary

Nielsen, a global leader in market data insights, seeks a Legal Counsel II, Privacy & Data Protection, to provide practical legal advice on U.S. and global privacy matters across products, services, and commercial dealings.

You will partner with Product, Engineering, Data Science, Information Security, Procurement, Sales, and Marketing to align privacy with business goals. Responsibilities include drafting and negotiating DPAs, supporting privacy program development, and advising on data

Qualifications

• JD or equivalent legal qualification and admission to at least one U.S. state bar.
• 2–5 years of privacy, data protection, technology, or related legal experience.
• Experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating DPAs and related terms.
• Ability to translate complex privacy requirements into clear business terms.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day legal guidance on U.S. federal/state privacy laws including CCPA/CPRA.
• Draft, review, and negotiate data processing agreements and privacy terms in contracts.
• Conduct privacy impact assessments for products and partnerships and embed privacy by design.
• Support privacy incident response, data subject rights, and regulatory inquiries.
• Monitor changes in privacy laws and communicate actionable guidance to stakeholders.
• Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Data Science, and other teams across the globe.
