Job summary

NC Department of Adult Correction, located at the NC Correctional Institution for Women in Raleigh, NC, seeks a Correctional Food Service Supervisor I to supervise food service officers and oversee offender meals in a female custody facility.

Reporting to the Correctional Food Service Manager III, duties include managing daily food prep, diets, sanitation, and recordkeeping, with duties supported by a computerized nutrition system. Salary range listed below.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and two years of experience in institutional food preparation or related correctional food service roles.
• Must be eligible for certification by the North Carolina Criminal Justice Education & Training Standards Commission.

Responsibilities

• Perform large-scale food production inside an all custody prison facility.
• Supervision of food preparation and services of regular and therapeutic diets for the offender population.
• Coordinate plans, direct, and supervise the daily preparation of food and serving food.
• Duties include food preparation, storage, menu planning, substitutions, maintaining sanitation requirements, and recordkeeping.
• Use a computerized food and nutrition system to prepare and serve daily meals.

Education

High school diploma or GED and two years of experience in institutional food preparation or related correctional food service roles
