Job summary

The North Carolina Department of Adult Correction is seeking a Maintenance/Construction Supervisor III to lead the maintenance division at a 750-bed facility. You will supervise journey-level staff across building trades, utilities, and minor construction, and manage both staff performance and a preventive maintenance program.

The role requires strong knowledge of codes, schematics, and project estimation, with a focus on safety and budget adherence in a correctional environment.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in construction management, air conditioning, heating & refrigeration tech, industrial maintenance tech, or mechanical engineering tech, plus progressive experience.
• Three years of progressive experience in construction or facility maintenance, including two years supervisory experience.
• An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, assign and monitor the work of the maintenance section.
• Manage a comprehensive preventive and corrective maintenance program and budget.
• Supervise staff and offender labor as applicable; conduct training on safety and OSHA requirements.
