Job summary

Adams State University seeks instructors to design and teach undergraduate correspondence courses for its national program serving incarcerated individuals across the United States. Courses are delivered by printed study guides with proctored exams and postal submission.

Instructors maintain digital gradebooks and collaborate with PEP staff to issue grades and support administration, promoting OER when possible.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in the subject of instruction OR a master’s degree in any area plus 18 graduate credit hours in the subject of instruction
  • College-level teaching experience

Responsibilities

  • Design and teach undergraduate correspondence courses delivered via printed study guides and assigned readings
  • Prepare course materials, including a course syllabus, study guide, assignment prompts, exams, and assessment tools
  • Maintain digital gradebooks and collaborate regularly with PEP staff to issue grades and support administrative processes
  • Encourage use of Open Educational Resources (OER) in course development
