Job summary

Amity Foundation in California seeks compassionate professionals to serve as Registered/Certified Substance Abuse Counselor III in state prison ISUDT programs. This full-time, non-exempt role focuses on delivering rehabilitative services on-site and advancing inmate treatment outcomes.

The Counselor will facilitate evidence-based curricula, document progress, and collaborate with prison staff. Certification and 1+ year experience required.

Qualifications

• Certified AOD Counselor with a DHCS-approved organization and 1 year of full-time experience.
• Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.
• Operational knowledge of MS Office Suite and ARMS.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate CBI classes using evidence-based curriculum.
• Conduct classes and individual sessions to develop release plans and assign make-up work.
• Evaluate and document participant progress.
• Document delivery of CBI programming in ARMS.
• Engage participants daily and reinforce group norms and expectations.
• Collaborate with CDCR/CCHCS HQ, local institutions, and contracted staff.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Contractor.
