Job summary

Amity Foundation in the United States is seeking compassionate individuals to join our prison program as Counselor II. This role delivers face-to-face rehabilitative programming within the Integrated Substance Use Disorder Treatment Program (ISUDTP) in state facilities.

You will facilitate CBI classes, conduct sessions, and document progress in ARMS, while collaborating with CDCR staff. Requires AOD Counselor certification and a high school diploma; on-site work with a strong commitment to

Qualifications

• Must be Certified as an AOD Counselor with an organization approved by DHCS.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Understanding of causes, symptoms, and effects of substance abuse; appreciation for behavioral, psychological, physical and social effects of drug abuse.
• Excellent interpersonal, written and communication skills.
• Operational knowledge of MS Office Suite and ARMS.
• Ability to maintain sensitivity and objectivity under pressures generated by association with substance abuse treatment participants.
• Demonstrate ethical behavior to maintain professional standards and safeguard participants.
• Protect and maintain participants’ health, safety, welfare and confidentiality of records and participant information.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate CBI classes using evidence-based curriculum.
• Conduct class and individual sessions to develop release prevention/action plans and provide makeup work.
• Evaluate and document progress of participants.
• Document delivery of CBI programming services in ARMS.
• Engage participants daily and reinforce group norms and expectations.
• Work collaboratively with the CDCR/CCHCS HQ, local institution and CDCR staff.
• Other related duties as assigned by the Contractor.
