Job summary

Amity Foundation in San Diego, CA seeks a Registered Substance Abuse Counselor I to support ISUDT in prison facilities. This is a full-time, non-exempt, on-site role delivering rehabilitative programming to inmate populations.

You will facilitate classes, document progress, and collaborate with CDCR/CCHCS teams; must be registered with a DHCS-approved organization and obtain AOD certification within five years. Competitive benefits provided.

Qualifications

• Must be registered with an organization approved by DHCS.
• Must obtain AOD certification within five years of registration date.
• Ability to deliver face-to-face rehabilitative programming in ISUDT.
• Experience in counseling and working with incarcerated populations.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate CBI classes using evidence-based curriculum.
• Conduct classes and individual sessions to develop release prevention/action plans.
• Evaluate and document progress of participants in classes.
• Document delivery of CBI programming services in ARMS.
• Engage participants daily and reinforce group norms and expectations.
• Collaborate with CDCR/CCHCS headquarters, local institution, and contracted staff.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
