Job summary

Amity Foundation is seeking a Counselor I to deliver face-to-face rehabilitative programming in the Integrated Substance Use Disorder Treatment Program (ISUDTP) at in-prison facilities.

You will facilitate CBI classes, develop release plans with participants, document progress in ARMS, and work with CDCR/CDCS staff to ensure contract compliance. This role requires AOD certification within five years and strong interpersonal skills.

Qualifications

• Must obtain AOD certification within five years of registration date.
• Current AOD Registration with an organization approved by the DHCS.
• Understanding of causes, symptoms, and effects of substance abuse.
• Knowledge of ISUDTP contractual requirements.
• Excellent interpersonal, written and communication skills.
• Operational knowledge of MS Office Suite and ARMS.
• Maintain sensitivity and objectivity under pressures related to treatment participants.
• Protect confidentiality of participant health and records.

Responsibilities

• Deliver face-to-face rehabilitative programming in ISUDTP.
• Facilitate CBI classes using evidence-based curriculum.
• Conduct classes and individual sessions for release planning and make-up work.
• Document progress and delivery of services in ARMS.
• Engage participants daily and reinforce group norms for participation.
• Collaborate with CDCR/CDCS headquarters, local institutions and staff.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
