Job summary

Amity Foundation in California seeks a Counselor I to deliver face-to-face rehabilitative programming within the Integrated Substance Use Disorder Treatment Program (ISUDTP) at in-prison facilities. You will facilitate CBI classes, conduct sessions, and document progress in ARMS while coordinating with CDCR/CDCHCS staff and other contract personnel.

The role requires strong interpersonal and communication skills, confidentiality, and knowledge of MS Office and ARMS.

Qualifications

• Must be registered with an organization approved by DHCS and obtain AOD certification within 5 years of registration date.
• Experience in rehabilitation or correctional programs is preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.
• Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Deliver face-to-face rehabilitative programming within the ISUDTP.
• Facilitate CBI classes using evidence-based curriculum for participants.
• Lead classes and individual sessions to develop release plans or provide makeup work.
• Evaluate and document participant progress in a clear manner.
• Document delivery of CBI services in ARMS.
• Engage participants daily and reinforce group norms and expectations.
• Collaborate with CDCR/CDCHCS staff and local institutions.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Contractor.
• Maintain understanding of substance abuse causes, effects, and treatment approaches.
• Demonstrate professional ethics and protect participant confidentiality.
