Job summary

Amity Foundation in Crescent City, California, seeks a Counselor I to deliver face-to-face rehabilitative programming in the Integrated Substance Use Disorder Treatment Program (ISUDTP) inside state prison facilities. The role emphasizes compassionate engagement with inmates and collaborative program delivery.

You will facilitate evidence-based classes, document progress in ARMS, coordinate with CDCR staff, and uphold participant confidentiality while maintaining high ethical standards.

Qualifications

• Understanding of substance abuse causes, symptoms and effects.
• Knowledge of ISUDTP contractual requirements.
• Excellent interpersonal, written and communication skills.
• Operational knowledge of MS Office Suite and ARMS.
• Ability to maintain sensitivity and objectivity under pressures.
• Uphold confidentiality of records and participant information.

Responsibilities

• Deliver face-to-face rehabilitative programming in ISUDTP.
• Facilitate CBI classes using evidence-based curriculum.
• Conduct classes and individual sessions to develop release plans.
• Evaluate and document participant progress in ARMS.
• Engage participants daily and reinforce group norms.
• Coordinate with CDCR/CCHCS staff and local institution.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Contractor.
