Job summary

Amity Foundation seeks compassionate individuals to join its team as Counselor I in state prison facilities, delivering face-to-face rehabilitative programming as part of ISUDTP. You will facilitate CBI classes and individual sessions, tracking progress and documenting services.

The role emphasizes collaboration with CDCR/CCHCS headquarters, local institutions, and contracted staff, with emphasis on ethics, confidentiality, and building trust within a challenging environment.

Qualifications

• Understanding of causes, symptoms, and effects of substance abuse.
• Knowledge of ISUDTP contractual requirements.
• Excellent interpersonal, written and communication skills.
• Operational knowledge of MS Office Suite and ARMS.
• Ability to maintain sensitivity and objectivity under pressures in substance abuse treatment.
• Protect and maintain participant health, safety, welfare and confidentiality of records.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate CBI classes using evidence-based curriculum.
• Conduct class and individual sessions to develop release prevention/action plans.
• Evaluate and document progress of participants.
• Document delivery of CBI programming services in ARMS.
• Engage participants daily and reinforce group norms and expectations.
• Collaborate with CDCR/CCHCS headquarters, local institution and contracted staff.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Contractor.
