POSITION SUMMARY
The Digital Printing Supervisor is responsible for scheduling and overseeing digital printing staff and related processes while supporting other operational areas. This role ensures effective staff management, maintains a safe and productive work environment, promotes customer satisfaction, and ensures seamless departmental operations to align with the company's goals. The Supervisor will foster a collaborative team environment, working closely with operations management and other internal departments to drive efficiency and success.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee the daily operation and maintenance of cut-sheet, roll-fed, and ink-jet printing equipment, ensuring adherence to standard operating procedures.
- Plan, schedule, and communicate job assignments on equipment to ensure timely completion in accordance with customer contracts and expectations.
- Document run instructions and supervise staff to ensure compliance, promptly reporting discrepancies or issues to management.
- Monitor, track, and report production errors, collaborating with the Operations Management Team and Quality Control to identify and implement solutions.
- Manage the scheduling and transmission of files to printers, ensuring all jobs are authorized and processed accurately.
- Complete and maintain logs for billing, service calls, and other required documentation.
- Verify the completion of banner sheets and continually monitor output quality to meet production standards.
- Coordinate and oversee proper paper stock usage, working with the Shipping & Receiving Supervisor to manage inventory levels and assist with inventory movements and counts as needed.
- Supervise the team to ensure work areas are clean and organized.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION
Minimum Required: High School Diploma or equivalent
EXPERIENCE
Preferred:
- 5 years of related experience with inserting, mailroom, and warehouse operations.
- 2 years of supervisory experience.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
- Read and interpret instructions and numbers (in English) at a level necessary to perform essential functions.
- Working knowledge of printing equipment and ability to perform basic repairs.
- Possess basic computer knowledge, including Microsoft Office.
PHYSICAL EFFORT
- Required to physically perform the essential functions of reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, talking, and hearing and perform repetitive motions.
- Occasionally required to stand and/or sit for extended periods (up to 8+ hours per day) and able to lift to 50 lbs.
