Job summary

Salem One, Inc. is seeking a Digital Supervisor to lead day-to-day digital production operations, ensuring safety, quality, throughput, and on-time delivery.

You will supervise operators, align priorities with Scheduling and Prepress, and ensure compliance with job specifications. You will drive standard work and continuous improvement, coach team performance, and escalate constraints to protect customer commitments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher preferred; high school diploma with relevant manufacturing experience acceptable.
• 5+ years in print/manufacturing ops in a lead or supervisor role.
• Experience with lean/continuous improvement tools and structured problem solving.
• Familiarity with digital press operations and production workflow.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily digital production activities; assign work, balance labor, and ensure schedule adherence and on-time delivery.
• Promote and enforce safety policies and procedures; conduct area audits, ensure PPE compliance, and address hazards immediately.
• Ensure product quality by verifying job specifications, monitoring color/registration, and driving corrective action for defects or rework.
• Coordinate with Prepress, Scheduling, Customer Service, and Maintenance to communicate job status, manage priorities, and resolve constraints.
• Lead, train, and develop operators through coaching, cross-training, and performance management; support hiring, onboarding, and disciplinary processes as needed.
• Drive daily management routines (shift startup, tier meetings, KPI tracking, visual boards) and lead structured problem solving to eliminate waste.

This role supervises operators, coordinates work priorities with Scheduling and Prepress, and ensures jobs are produced to specification. The Digital Supervisor drives standard work and continuous improvement, coaches team performance, and escalates constraints to protect customer commitments.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:Supervise daily digital production activities; assign work, balance labor, and ensure schedule adherence and on-time delivery.Promote and enforce safety policies and procedures; conduct area audits, ensure PPE compliance, and address hazards immediately.Ensure product quality by verifying job specifications, monitoring color/registration, and driving corrective action for defects or rework.Coordinate with Prepress, Scheduling, Customer Service, and Maintenance to communicate job status, manage priorities, and resolve constraints.Lead, train, and develop operators through coaching, cross-training, and performance management; support hiring, onboarding, and disciplinary processes as needed.Drive daily management routines (shift startup, tier meetings, KPI tracking, visual boards) and lead structured problem solving to eliminate waste.Support equipment reliability by ensuring proper setup/changeover, adherence to preventive maintenance tasks, and timely escalation of downtime issues.Must be able to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbsQUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor’s degree preferred; high school diploma or equivalent required with relevant experience.5+ years of experience in print/manufacturing operations, including at least 2 years in a lead or supervisory role.Working knowledge of digital press operations, production workflow, and color/quality standards.Demonstrated ability to lead teams, prioritize work, and communicate effectively in a fast-paced production environment.Experience with Lean/continuous improvement tools and structured problem solving (5-Why, A3, 8D) preferred.Basic computer proficiency (email, spreadsheets) and comfort using production/MIS systems; ability to work flexible hours as required.
