Job summary

Staff Perm is seeking a Printing Press Operator for the Townsend, MA facility. This contract role covers the operation and changeovers for multi-color sheet fed or high speed presses, with training on first shift.

The 3rd shift runs 11:00pm to 7:00am, Sunday through Thursday. The position offers hands-on setup, ink balance management, color matching, and preventive maintenance to ensure quality output and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Set up press, load stock, adjust ink/water balance, ensure correct color registration and perforations and other attributes.
• Meet job requirements including ink density, color matching, size and construction to customer specifications.
• Perform daily/weekly/monthly preventative maintenance and troubleshoot mechanical issues on the press.

Printing Press Operator (3rd Shift)

The Printing Press Operator is responsible for the operation and manual setup/changeovers of multi-color sheet fed or high speed continuous/web presses.

LOCATION: Townsend, MA 01469
POSITION: Contract
SCHEDULE: 3 rd Shift – 11:00pm to 7:00am / Sunday – Thursday (Training is on 1 st shift)
PAY RATE: $22.00 hour

***Training on first shift***

• Perform a complete effective set-up of press including identifying and loading correct stock, setting correct paper path and stretch, bending and mounting plates, mixing PMS ink, die registration, making appropriate adjustments to the ink and water balance, assuring accurate multi-color register and setting up any attribute functions, e.g. perforations, number, file holes, etc.
• Determine and understand all order instructions and running of press, meeting job requirements of ink density, ink and water balance, color matching, size and construction, and required attributes at a quality level that meets or exceeds our customer’s expectations.
• Performs daily, weekly and monthly preventative maintenance to ensure a quality product to customer as required. Understands all press controls and demonstrates their use.
• Maintains the ability to troubleshoot mechanical breakdowns; demonstrates the ability to make adjustments to the equipment including blanket changes, washing up units, cleaning water system and roller settings as required.

Basic Qualifications

• 18 years old and eligible to work in the USA
• HS Diploma or GED
• 3 year of Manufacturing/Printing experience
• Familiar with printing process and ink usage
• Basic computer skills.
