Description
This position prepares the flexographic press for print jobs as assigned, loads appropriate film and ink, and ensures quality by checking for blots/errors. The objective of this role is to produce roll-to-roll printed material with the highest degree of quality, as directed each day by production leaders.
2nd Shift Hours: 12:45 pm to 9:15 pm, Monday - Friday
3rd Shift Hours: 8:45 pm to 5:15 am, Monday - Friday
Compensation: $24 - $30/hr DOE
Essential Duties and Tasks
- Operate press in a safe and efficient way; troubleshoot and correct problems as needed.
- Confer with Press Operator from previous shift regarding status of press operations.
- Set up print work on press for approval.
- Check Color with X-Rite, Enter Values by Roll # into QA Master Software.
- Set Impression, Evaluate Quality of Print, Execute Recommended Corrections.
- Set Registration, Evaluate Quality of Print, Execute Recommended Corrections.
- Manage viscosities of inks, ensure correct solvent for certain inks.
- Collect ink samples from approved color jobs.
- Set and evaluate impression, basic troubleshooting of print defects.
- Set and evaluate registration, basic troubleshooting of registration float.
- Evaluate materials and constructions, understand different tension, taper, rewind requirements.
- Understand various QC checks and procedures, understand customer specifications.
- Fully understand job jacket contents, use and meaning of each item, able to interpret & seek guidance.
- Be a role model for work ethic and attitude, press area organization and cleanliness.
Skills and Abilities
- Basic mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to mechanically lift heavy loads in a safe way.
- Good communication skills in the English language (reading, writing, listening and speaking).
