Job summary

Accelera in Hauppauge, NY is seeking a Printing Press Assistant to support large-scale printing operations. You will help manage material flow, calibrate feeds, monitor ink levels, and ensure consistent press performance to deliver high-quality output across runs.

You will coordinate with the lead operator to prepare materials, stage paper, perform routine maintenance, and uphold safety and organization in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude with troubleshooting production equipment.
• Proficiency in basic math, including fractions and measurements.
• Strong attention to detail to monitor machine performance.
• Physical ability to stand, walk, and handle materials during a shift.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions in a fast-paced setting.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with the lead operator to execute production schedules and prepare necessary materials for upcoming print runs.
• Manage the staging and loading of paper stock into feeder systems to ensure continuous, uninterrupted production.
• Calibrate feed mechanisms, including pressure settings and sheet detectors, to optimize machine performance.
• Monitor the press during operation to maintain consistent ink levels, water balance, and overall print quality.
• Perform essential maintenance on press components, such as cleaning blankets and managing printing plates, to extend equipment lifespan.
• Uphold a high standard of workplace safety and organization to foster an efficient manufacturing environment.
