Job summary

Pride Global is seeking an experienced PCB Layout Designer to support the development and release of high-quality PCBs. The role concentrates on PCB layout using Cadence Allegro, with additional duties in schematic reviews, documentation, and design quality across 2- to 40-layer boards.

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM

Work Arrangement: 100% Onsite

Duration: Approximately 2 years

Pay Rate: Up to $64.28/hr

Role Overview

Seeking an experienced PCB Layout Designer to support the development and release of high-quality printed circuit boards. The role is primarily focused on PCB layout using Cadence Allegro, with additional responsibilities supporting schematic reviews, documentation, design quality, and cross-functional engineering activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform PCB layout design using Cadence Allegro, representing approximately 80–90% of the role.
• Develop and modify PCB layouts for 2- to 40-layer boards supporting digital, analog, and power circuits.
• Review schematics and collaborate with electrical and cross-functional engineering teams.
• Perform Design Rule Checks (DRC) and other quality-control activities to identify and resolve design issues before release.
• Support PCB documentation, design updates, and engineering records.
• Develop and maintain Best Known Methods (BKM) and contribute to process improvements.
• Identify opportunities to improve layout quality and reduce rework and post-release issues.
• Occasionally support cross-functional design and engineering activities.
• Ensure PCB designs meet applicable design standards, requirements, and quality expectations.
• Partner with engineering teams to support right-first-time design releases.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional PCB layout experience.
• Strong hands-on experience with Cadence Allegro.
• Experience with current or previous versions of Allegro; experience with Allegro 22.1 or 17.4 is highly relevant.
• Experience designing traditional rigid PCBs; flex-cable design experience is not required.
• Experience working with multi-layer PCB designs, including 2–40 layer boards.
• Experience with digital, analog, and/or power circuit layouts.
• Strong understanding of PCB design rules, DRC, layout quality, and design-release processes.
• Ability to review schematics and work effectively with electrical and cross-functional engineering teams.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to design quality.

Preferred Qualifications

• Semiconductor, electronics, aerospace, medical device, or other high-tech industry experience.
• Experience with high-reliability or complex PCB designs.
• Experience with D-Sub, Ethernet, coaxial, or industrial-grade connectors.
• Experience identifying root causes of PCB design issues and implementing corrective improvements.
• Strong documentation and technical communication skills.
