Job summary

Allied Resources Technical Consultants in the United States seeks a skilled PCB Design Engineer to join our engineering team. You will design and develop printed circuit boards from concept to production with emphasis on high-speed applications.

You will collaborate with engineers and manufacturers to convert schematics into production-ready layouts, establish board architecture, apply signal integrity practices, and prepare fabrication documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 8+ years of professional PCB design and layout experience.
• Hands-on experience with Altium Designer or equivalent.
• Experience designing boards for high-speed digital applications.
• Knowledge of PCB manufacturing, fabrication, assembly, and DFM principles.
• Familiarity with PCB documentation and manufacturing deliverables.
• Understanding of high-speed design concepts such as controlled impedance, differential pairs, crosstalk, grounding, and return paths.
• Exposure to signal integrity and/or power integrity analysis preferred.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively and work with multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Detail-oriented with ability to manage projects independently and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Develop PCB layouts for complex electronic systems, including high-speed digital applications.
• Work with engineering teams to convert schematics and design concepts into production-ready board layouts.
• Establish board architecture, layer configurations, routing approaches, and design constraints.
• Apply best practices related to signal integrity, power distribution, impedance, EMI/EMC, and overall board performance.
• Prepare engineering and manufacturing documentation required for PCB fabrication and assembly.
• Work with external manufacturers and suppliers to address design-for-manufacturing considerations and production requirements.
• Participate in design reviews and collaborate with engineering teams to resolve technical challenges.
• Investigate PCB design, fabrication, and assembly issues and help identify effective solutions.
• Ensure designs follow applicable industry standards and internal engineering requirements.
• Support improvements to PCB design processes, standards, and workflows.
• Maintain accurate design documentation and component information throughout the product development process.
