Job summary

South Dakota State Government is seeking a Print Shop Foreman in Sioux Falls, SD. You will oversee a correctional facility print shop, directing incarcerated workers, managing production schedules, quality control, and inventory while balancing security with efficiency.

The role combines production supervision with business management, focusing on safety, training, and timely delivery to state and local clients. Strong cost controls and process improvement mindset are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience managing day-to-day operations in a production environment.
• Knowledge of budgeting, job costing, pricing, labor and materials costs.
• Experience supervising and developing staff, including coaching and evaluating performance.
• Experience in inventory management and maintaining appropriate levels and reducing waste.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily supervision to incarcerated workers to meet production goals.
• Interview, select, assign, and evaluate incarcerated workers.
• Train workers in sewing, garment construction, upholstery, embroidery, and finishing.
• Coordinate workflow between garment/upholstery production, cutting, sewing, embroidery, finishing, and shipping.
• Develop and maintain production schedules to meet deadlines and costs.
• Maintain quality control standards and safe work practices.
