Job summary

The Dallas Morning News, part of Hearst Corporation, seeks a Machine Operator for onsite production responsibilities in our North Texas facility. You will operate multiple printers and packaging equipment, manage press readiness, and ensure quotas are met while collaborating with team members.

You will bring at least five years of production experience, strong communication, and the ability to work under tight deadlines in a noisy, industrial environment. Onsite role with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or demonstrable experience in lieu of education.
• Five years of production environment experience.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently on multiple tasks.
• Ability to think critically with a goal-oriented mindset.
• Ability to overcome production obstacles while ensuring timely delivery.
• Ability to work under time pressure.
• Proficiency with PCs and PC programs such as Workday, email and learning management systems.

Responsibilities

• Operate machines in production operations: Goss SSC Press, Mueller SLS 3000, Quipp Stacker and Kodak News Management, and handle platemaking.
• Apply production knowledge of materials, processes and techniques to keep manufacturing and distribution efficient.
• Meet deadlines and production goals through self-motivation.
• Identify and correct conflicts between deadlines and quality requirements.
• Collaborate with colleagues in a fast-moving work environment.
• Help develop and implement workflow-enhancing processes.
• Monitor productivity and propose safer, faster processes.
• Maintain cleanliness of general warehouse areas.
• Perform related duties as assigned within the scope of the role.
