Dallas Printing Co. is seeking a skilled Lead Press Operator to manage 2nd shift duties on large-format presses. You will lead assistants, optimize run quality, and ensure color accuracy, with focus on efficiency and safety.

Responsibilities include coordinating workflow in the supervisor's absence, performing press adjustments, and mentoring junior operators in a fast-paced production environment. Strong reading of blueprints and production software is essential.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of hands‑on machine setup and operation in a commercial print environment.
• Experience operating Heidelberg or Komori large-format offset presses.
• Experience with UV ink printing.
• Strong ability to read blueprints, job tickets, and production software.
• Demonstrated troubleshooting of press issues and precise adjustments.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Perform make-ready setups, test runs, press adjustments, and wash-ups on large printing and pressing equipment.
• Direct daily activities for assistants and feeder operators while coordinating shift workflow in the supervisor's absence.
• Continuously inspect finished output to ensure precise color, cut, and structural specifications and minimize costly production errors.
• Troubleshoot minor mechanical jams, perform routine equipment maintenance, and document daily production metrics.
• Coach and mentor junior operators on safety procedures, machine adjustments, and advanced operating techniques.
• Set up and operate Heidelberg or Komori large-format offset presses.
• Troubleshoot press issues and make necessary adjustments to maintain quality and production efficiency.
