DESCRIPTION

This full-time, onsite role is ideal for a mechanically inclined individual who will play a key part in supporting Triton Print's production and delivery operations. The position is essential to ensuring the efficient creation and distribution of printed materials across the UC campus and to local partners.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES BINDERY AND PRODUCTION OPERATIONS
  • Operate a variety of specialized equipment, including binding machines, laminators, and padding equipment, to prepare printed materials according to specific requirements.
  • Perform both manual and automated processes such as folding, collating, and assembling printed products, ensuring all items meet strict quality and accuracy standards.
LOGISTICS AND DELIVERY SERVICES
  • Safely drive a range of University vehicles, including trucks, vans, and electric carts, to deliver completed print orders, supplies, and confidential files between various UC departments and local vendors.
  • Manage the careful loading and unloading of materials using equipment such as pallet jacks and hand trucks, with attention to safety protocols and efficient handling.
CUSTOMER SERVICE COORDINATION
  • Work closely with the TPDM Customer Service team to coordinate order schedules and ensure the timely and accurate delivery of all print jobs.
  • Serve as a point of contact for delivery-related inquiries, helping to resolve issues promptly and maintain a high standard of customer satisfaction.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Physical Ability: Must be able to remain on your feet for the majority of an 8-hour shift and comfortably lift between 20–50 lbs.
  • Technical Aptitude: Must be mechanically inclined.
  • Compliance: Must adhere to all legal road rules and maintain UC-issued equipment and vehicles.
  • This position requires a strong attention to detail, the ability to follow precise instructions, and a commitment to safety and reliability in both production and delivery tasks.
  • A collaborative approach and effective communication with both internal staff and external partners are key to success in this role.
  • Candidates must have a California Driver's License with a good driving record.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS
  • This duration of this position is currently undetermined. It could last anywhere from approximately 2-9 months.

This position has been identified as a Mandated Reporter pursuant to the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act (CANRA) and Requires immediate reporting of physical abuse, sexual abuse, emotional abuse, or neglect of anyone under the age of 18. It is the responsibility of the Mandated Reporter to ensure that they obtain proper training in order to fulfill their reporting responsibilities as Required by the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act and University policy, and to complete and submit the Required reports to the UC San Diego Police Department without delay.
