Job summary

ProAmpac in Cheektowaga, NY, is hiring a Press Assistant for the 2nd shift to support the Printing Department and keep presses running. The role is a Temp to Direct hire with opportunities for career progression and competitive pay.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2 years of manufacturing experience preferred.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds repeatedly during the shift.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and multi-tasking skills to facilitate shift-to-shift communication.
• Ability to read, comprehend and write simple correspondence; read and interpret job orders.
• Good eye for color; color matching experience preferred.
• Ability to perform simple math equations; read a tape measure accurately.

Responsibilities

• Assists in printing operation and works with the Operator to create a quality product according to customer specifications.
• Inspects the print job to ensure highest quality and coordinates efforts to run the job efficiently.
• Works with inks and ensures proper ink quantities and viscosity for each job.
• Prepares for the next production run by supplying ink, cores, and rolls to the press.
• Monitors inks to keep the press running and maintains a clean press area.
