Job summary

ProAmpac in Cheektowaga, NY is hiring a Press Assistant for the 2nd shift on a temporary-to-direct basis. The role supports the Printing Department to keep presses running and ensure quality per customer specs. The position offers a path to a higher Operator role and includes a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2 years of manufacturing experience preferred.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds repeatedly.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and multi-tasking skills for shift communication.
• Ability to read, comprehend and write simple correspondence.
• Ability to read and interpret job orders for setup and production.
• Color discernment; graphic design experience is a plus.
• Ability to perform simple math.

Responsibilities

• Assist printing operation and work with Operator to produce quality products per customer specs.
• Inspect prints to ensure highest quality and coordinate efficient run.
• Manage inks and solvents; ensure correct viscosity, color, and quantities.
• Prepare for next production run by supplying press with ink, cores, and rolls.
• Ensure and monitor inks to keep press running.
• Keep press area organized and clean.
