Job summary

The New School is seeking a Full-time Technician in Print Media for the Parsons Making Center. The role supports laser, inkjet, risographs, binding, and finishing equipment, working closely with students and faculty in a busy makerspace on campus.

Responsibilities include demonstrations, orientations, and troubleshooting, with a focus on delivering high-quality print outputs while maintaining safe, organized labs and collaborative workflows across departments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; 3+ years in print or making environments preferred.
• Strong customer service and communication skills for daily interaction with students and faculty.
• Experience with printing, binding, lamination, and related equipment is essential.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of the Making Center facilities and maintain a safe work environment.
• Assist students and staff with printing, book-binding, and finishing processes.
• Lead demonstrations, trainings, and tours of equipment and workflows.
• Collaborate with Making Center staff on repairs, maintenance, and improvements.
