Job summary

RTX’s Land & Shipboard Effector Guidance Systems (LSEGS) team at Tucson, AZ is seeking a Senior Hardware Engineering Manager to lead multi-disciplinary hardware teams and drive program execution for DoD programs.

You will mentor engineers, manage suppliers, and align designs with obsolescence and producibility goals while collaborating with IPTLs, program leadership, customers, and business partners to deliver reliable, affordable electrical products.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related STEM field and 8+ years of relevant experience.
  • 4+ years of experience leading a multi-disciplinary hardware engineering team.
  • Experience with technical team and supplier management.
  • Ability to identify issues and develop recommended actions for leadership.
  • Expert-level proficiency across multiple engineering disciplines.

Responsibilities

  • Lead cross-functional efforts across engineering and program management to meet customer requirements and design standards.
  • Analyze data from various program products to ensure performance consistency.
  • Assess manufacturing system performance to identify constraints and improvement opportunities.
  • Review design updates and correlate them with historical changes and context.
  • Align legacy product performance with redesigned subsystems for obsolescence and producibility.
  • Conduct data collection and deliver detailed reports on results.
  • Troubleshoot to ensure proper technical rigor and corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with hardware IPTs, CPTLs, program leadership, customers, and internal/external stakeholders.
  • Contribute to strategic roadmaps for capacity growth, technology insertion, and infrastructure upgrades.
  • Provide mentoring to team members emphasizing best practices.

Raytheon’s Land & Shipboard Effector Guidance Systems (LSEGS) Department is responsible for the delivery of affordable and innovative electrical products. Accountable for program execution including cost, schedule and technical oversight throughout the product lifecycle. Providing resources to drive development and sustainment activities of our Land and Naval based electrical products. Our multi-disciplined teams manage a variety of engineering projects while maintaining a work life balance.

What You Will Do
  • Lead focused efforts across technical and program management disciplines to help the team comply with customer’s requirements and modern electrical design standards
  • Analyze data of different program products to ensure consistency in performance and data outputs
  • Analyze manufacturing system performance to identify constraints, risks, improvement opportunities and manufacturing rate increase
  • Review design updates and correlate them to historical changes and context
  • Align performance parameters of legacy products with subsystems that are redesigned for obsolescence and/or producibility
  • Perform data collection activities, including review and analysis of data elements, and provide detailed reports of results
  • Participate in troubleshooting to ensure implementation of proper level of technical rigor and corrective actions
  • Collaborate and effectively communicate with hardware focused IPTs, CPTLs, program leadership, customers, and business associates both internal and external to Raytheon
  • Contribute to strategic roadmaps focused on capacity growth, technology insertion, infrastructure upgrades, obsolescence mitigation, and future capabilities
  • Provide mentoring and guidance to team members and REAs emphasizing best practices and lessons learned
Qualifications You Must Have
  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, Physics, Mathematics, or a related STEM degree and a minimum of 8 years’ prior relevant experience
  • At least 4 years of experience managing a multi-disciplined Hardware Engineering Team
  • Experience with technical team and supplier management
  • Experience identifying the issues and developing recommended courses of action to technical leadership (IPTL, CEs, or team leaders)
  • Expert-level proficiency in multiple engineering disciplines, typically achieved through a combination of advanced education and extensive professional experience.

The salary range for this role is 107,500 USD - 204,500 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
