Job summary

RTX in the United States is seeking a senior hardware engineering leader to provide technical and programmatic oversight for a multi-disciplinary team (electrical, mechanical, integration, and systems).

This role focuses on leading assembly, testing, yield improvements, and collaboration with OPS and Quality across factories to meet cost, schedule, and technical performance targets; a DoD secret clearance is required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, Physics, Mathematics, or related STEM field.
  • Minimum 5 years leading multi-disciplinary hardware engineering teams.
  • Proven expertise in technical team management and leadership.
  • Proficiency in program management tools including EVMS, IMP/IMS, and Risk & Opportunity Management.
  • Strong background in managing complex technical programs and driving outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical and programmatic oversight for a multi-disciplinary engineering team (electrical, mechanical, integration, and systems).
  • Lead assembly, testing, troubleshooting, and yield improvement for slices and stacks across multiple Electronics Unit configurations.
  • Ensure cost, schedule, and technical performance goals are met during hardware builds and production execution.
  • Collaborate with Operations and Quality teams across multiple factories to support production, troubleshoot issues, and implement corrective actions.
  • Address hardware failures, producibility challenges, and engage SMEs as needed to resolve issues.
  • Drive yield improvement, defect reduction, and producibility enhancements while maintaining the Technical Data Package (TDP) for Electronics Unit configurations.
  • Process and resolve IRs, CNs, SRs, and variances.
  • Conduct hardware acceptance reviews with customers to ensure high-quality products meeting requirements.
  • Communicate progress, risks, and corrective actions with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Lead root cause investigations and execute systemic/process improvements to enhance production efficiency and product quality.

What You Will Do

  • Lead root cause investigations and execute systemic and process improvements to enhance production efficiency and product quality.
Qualifications You Must Have
  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, Physics, Mathematics, or a related STEM degree and a minimum of 8 years’ prior relevant experience
  • Minimum 5 years of experience leading and managing multi-disciplinary hardware engineering teams.
  • Proven expertise in technical team management and leadership.
  • Proficiency in program management tools, including EVMS, IMP/IMS, and Risk & Opportunity Management.
  • Strong background in managing complex technical programs and driving successful outcomes.
Qualifications We Prefer
  • Experience in production execution and oversight in a technical environment.
  • Background in failure investigation, defect containment, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation.
  • Proven ability to lead and manage large, multi-disciplinary engineering teams.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing production challenges and driving resolution.
  • Collaborative experience working across factories with operations, quality, and supply chain teams.
  • Expertise in managing hardware yields, defect reduction, and producibility improvements.
  • Familiarity with maintaining and managing Technical Data Packages (TDP), and processing IRs, CNs, and variances.

The salary range for this role is 107,500 USD - 204,500 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
