Job summary

Impinj is seeking a Principal UX/UI Designer to set design direction for our software solutions in a hands-on, founding-team capacity. You will own the end-to-end experience, define the design system, and partner with Product and Engineering to shape the roadmap.

The role requires strategic vision and senior-level influence across the organization. You will lead discovery on complex problems, mentor teams, and ensure high-quality interaction design, information architecture, and prototyping

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in design, HCI, or related field or equivalent practical experience.
• 15+ years of UX/UI or product design experience, including 3+ years at Staff/Principal level.
• Experience designing products from zero to MVP.
• Expert command of interaction design, information architecture, visual design, and prototyping.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end user experience from problem framing to production handoff.
• Set and evolve design language and component library across products.
• Lead discovery and translate business objectives into design strategy.
• Partner with Product Management and Engineering to influence roadmap and trade-offs.
• Work with engineering to understand constraints and decompose features into stories.
• Plan and interpret user research and usability testing; validate decisions with signals.
• Advise executive leadership on design maturity and strategy.
