Job summary

Aspida is seeking a Principal UX Designer to lead high-impact design strategy and research across product lines from our Durham, NC office. You will directly contribute as a senior IC and manage a team of designers who handle design and research for their areas.

This hybrid role requires onsite presence at Durham three days a week within a fast-paced, data-driven environment. You will mentor designers, ensure design quality, and establish standards for reviews, QA, and processes.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of experience in product design with strategic leadership at portfolio level.
• Proven ability to manage, coach, and mentor designers.
• Experience shaping design systems, patterns, and standards across teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead ambiguous, high-impact design strategy across product lines.
• Shape experience architecture and define major design patterns used across the design system.
• Drive design system maturity and consistency across product areas.
• Influence executive-level product and experience decisions with strategic design thinking.
• Lead portfolio-level journey design where problems are not yet defined.
