Job summary

Vivint is seeking a Principal UX Designer to lead end-to-end user experiences across its smart home ecosystem. You will own complex, ambiguous design problems, translating them into intuitive, scalable interfaces across mobile apps, hardware panels, and ambient devices.

The role demands autonomy, a strong design framework, and collaboration with product, and engineering teams to deliver high-fidelity prototypes, research-led iterations, and compelling executive presentations.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of UX design, interaction design, or product design in consumer tech or IoT/smart home.
• Experience designing software features driven by complex data, predictive algorithms, or multi-device environments.
• Bachelor's/Master's/BFA in HCI, Interaction/Visual Design or related field; portfolio-based equivalent accepted.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute a multi-year UX strategy across Vivint touchpoints (mobile, panels, ambient devices).
• Develop and evolve a unified design language system for cohesive ecosystem experiences.
• Architect systems-level interactions bridging physical devices with real-time software controls.
