Job summary

OHM Advisors in Tennessee seeks a Principal Transportation Engineer to guide the growth and direction of its transportation practice. You will lead key projects, develop client relationships, and shape strategies to improve safety, mobility, and community resilience among multi-disciplinary teams.

This senior leadership role requires a PE license in TN, 15+ years in transportation engineering, and 5+ years in leadership, with TDOT knowledge and proven client development experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering required.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (TN) or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• 15+ years in transportation engineering with 5+ years in leadership.
• Strong TDOT standards knowledge and project delivery experience.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and client development.

Responsibilities

• Serve as principal-in-charge on complex transportation projects (roadways, corridors, multimodal).
• Oversee delivery, maintain quality, budget and schedule; ensure technical excellence.
• Lead client engagement with TDOT and local municipalities; pursue new opportunities.
• Mentor and develop engineering staff; support staffing and growth of TN practice.
• Foster collaborative, high-performing culture aligned with OHM values.
