NY STATE ELECTRIC & GAS CORP is seeking a Principal Engineer - Transmission Planning for work in NY with Rochester and Binghamton locations. The role focuses on reliability and economic studies, planning, and coordination with industry partners.

Requires strong technical knowledge and extensive experience in power system analysis. Offer includes great benefits, sign-on bonus, relocation support, and an office-based work arrangement.

Formación

• Education: BSEE required; advanced degrees/certifications considered.
• 10+ years of industry experience.

Responsabilidades

• Collaborate on reliability and/or economic studies including voltage, thermal, PV, transfer limit, short circuit and stability assessments.
• Analyze and assess complex transmission systems at multiple voltage levels and present results and recommendations.
• Innovate to improve precision and efficiency of transmission planning; mentor and support the team as needed.
• Coordinate with internal teams and industry peers on regional activities (e.g., NPCC, ISO).
• Develop understanding of planning criteria and analysis software (e.g., PSS/E, TARA, ASPEN).
• Participate in site inspections, industry workshops, and user group meetings.
