Job summary

Hut 8 Corp. is seeking a Principal, Transmission & Interconnection to advance interconnection and transmission planning for US assets, including data centers and energy infrastructure.

You will manage utility interfaces, maintain state-of-the-art models, and guide studies and cost estimations necessary for grid access. You will lead technical engagements with utilities and grid operators, shape study materials, and ensure timely, accurate deliverables.

Qualifications

• BSEE from an ABET-accredited program with a power emphasis.
• 5–8 years of experience in power systems, transmission planning, and interconnection.
• Proficient with power system modeling and simulation software such as PSS/E, PSLF, PowerWorld, TARA, or equivalent.
• Hands-on oversight to consultants to validate dynamic models via PSCAD or EMTP modeling.
• Strong analytical skills to interpret interconnection study results and develop actionable recommendations.
• Clear written and verbal communication with engineering, business, and executive audiences.
• Proficiency with workflow automation and APIs to scale study development.

Responsibilities

• Prepare materials for utility and grid operator submittals and track milestones.
• Maintain power system models across regional grid operator systems.
• Lead power flow studies for load capacity screening and cost estimation.
• Direct system stability and protection-related studies as needed.
• Prepare and review technical reports and translate findings for stakeholders.
• Drive coordination across internal teams and align study activities.
