Hut 8 in Miami, FL is seeking a Principal Transmission & Interconnection to lead interconnection planning for US grid access as we scale our energy infrastructure for data centers and AI workloads. You will coordinate utility submissions, model power systems, and guide analyses and reports for internal teams and external stakeholders, ensuring timely study milestones and cost-effective solutions.

Qualificações

• BSEE from ABET-accredited program with a power emphasis.
• 3–5 years of experience in power systems, transmission planning, and interconnection.
• Hands on experience with TARA for transmission reliability, power flow, and contingency analysis.
• Proficient with power system modeling and simulation software such as PSS/E, PSLF, PowerWorld, PSCAD, or equivalent.
• Strong analytical skills with ability to interpret complex interconnection study results and develop actionable recommendations
• Track record of successfully negotiating interconnection agreements and managing cost and schedule risk.
• Skilled in report preparation, data analytics, and cost modeling, with clear written and verbal communication
• Prior internship or co-op experience in power systems, transmission planning, or interconnection is a plus

Responsabilidades

• Prepare materials for utility and grid operator submittals
• Track study milestones and support related negotiation processes
• Maintain internal records to support study oversight
• Maintain model currency across regional grid operator systems
• Perform power flow studies to support load capacity screening, network upgrade cost estimation, and system reliability analysis
• Translate technical findings for both engineering and business audiences
• Support coordination across internal teams
• Coordinate with external consultants to build and validate power flow and dynamic models
• Support workflow automation and modern software tools to scale study throughput as project volume grows
