Job summary

Leoforce is seeking a Principal Traffic Engineer for our San Diego, CA office. This senior role requires expertise in municipal traffic engineering, project leadership, and client coordination across public agencies.

You will supervise teams, manage schedules and budgets, and deliver traffic signal, signing, striping plans, and Traffic Impact Analyses. Ideal candidates hold a BSCE and CA PE/TE, with 7+ years in the field and 5+ years in management, plus Southern California exposure.

Qualifications

• Senior-level experience in municipal traffic engineering/Planning.
• 7+ years of traffic engineering/planning experience or equivalent 12 years in the industry.
• 5+ years of management supervising traffic designers/planners and CAD drafters/technicians.
• Experience managing design teams, schedules, budgets, contracts, and scopes of work.
• Strong background in traffic signal design, signing/striping, Traffic Impact Analyses and reports.

Responsibilities

• Supervise traffic engineers, designers/planners, and CAD drafters/technicians.
• Manage projects from inception to completion.
• Lead traffic engineering design teams and coordinate with clients/public agencies.
• Prepare contracts, fee proposals, and scopes of work.
• Prepare and process TIA studies and traffic engineering plans.
